Multimedia exhibition project "In-between Conditions" in cooperation with Goethe Institut Georgien presents a lecture and a film screening session by Florian Wüst - Berlin-based independent film curator, artist and publisher

Lecture on the practice of film curating in the context of transmediale and beyond:

Florian Wüst will discuss his practice as film curator and talk about the film program of transmediale, a yearly Berlin-based festival and cultural organization that facilitates critical reflection and interventions into processes of cultural transformation from a post-digital perspective. In the course of its more than 30 years history, transmediale has turned into an essential event in the calendar of media art professionals, artists, activists, and students from all over the world. During his lecture Florian Wüst will also reflect on his practice of working with archival and documentary footage, experimental and alternative films as well as on issues around research and representation.

Screening session:

A special selection of the films from the archive of transmediale will be screened at the main G1 stage of the KHIDI club on the 20th of February from 18:00 to 22:00. Florian Wüst will introduce the films and complement the selection with titles from other film programs he curated, like Daphne Hérétakis' “Ici rien” (2011) and Stefan Panhans' “Freeroam À Rebours, Mod#I.1” (2016), followed by a Q&A. Florian Wüst is an independent film curator, artist, and publisher based in Berlin. His work revolves around the history of post-war Europe and modern social, economic and technical progress. He writes and lectures about topics related to cinema, society, and urban politics. He's the co-founder of the Berlin Journals—On the History and Present State of the City. Since 2016 he acts as film and video curator of transmediale.
